Who is a Leader; Vol. 1 – YPAN A leader is judged by the quality of his decisions, communicated either verbally or in written format. These decisions influence the followers’ perception either positively or negatively, about the leader. That is, followers’ support or antagonism against the leader in terms of selection, election, or policies implementation, is a product of their perception of him/her. Therefore, an essential requirement for leaders is to be known by a driven ideology and to rally his/her follower’s to connect to that ideology. Policy formulation and implementation must be in tandem with the group ideologue, always peoples oriented and not self-centered. A leader must never be seen or known to be switching sides (or as such) for whatsoever reason. Leaders are role models. Their actions and inactions have implications for the younger generations. Ideological inconsistencies might be seen by the younger generations as fashionable. This, will definitely derail them from exploring their capacity to be identified with a cause and stand by it, come rain or shine. Advanced democracies conduct political recruitment by identifying individual citizens’ ideological inclination. credit: Moses Emmanuel Hayab, Member, Kaduna State Chapter, YPAN. #leader #leadership #orientation #ypan #nigeria #nigerianpolitics #kaduna #democracy #citizens #follow #followers #education
Cross River is a state in South South Nigeria, bordering Cameroon to the east. Its capital is Calabar, and its name is derived from the Cross River (Oyono), which passes through the state. English, French, Bekwarra, Ejagham and Efik are major languages of this state. #nigeria #crossriver #crossriverstate #efik #nigerianpolitics #calabar #follow #ypan #youthinpolitics #leaders #betterfuture
The situational crisis in the health sector of Nigeria cannot be classified as impending danger because we are already in danger from the inadequacy of health facilities around the country. The issue of the failed Health system brought to the National Assembly by Senator David Umaru is not a new thing as everyone in Nigeria and diaspora is well aware of the bad state of our health facilities. Though, we applaud the National Assembly for taking up the motion and summoning the Minister of Health to the Senate. Nigeria not only suffers from shortage of medical supplies but also from shortage of medical staffs and low wages to hospital staffs who are overworked and over stressed. We beseech our the Federal Government to take into consideration more employment of hospital staffs The health of our doctors and nurses matter too. Why not consider them and provide them with everything they need to perform effectively. According to the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, the issues he raised are that 14 out of 36 states are yet to show interest in basic health care provision, he also included the issue of power supply. YPAN would suggest health facilities, if can't be provided with steady power supply, should ensure that the hospitals never lack alternative power generators and diesel supply. We, the patriotic citizens of Nigeria, implore the Minister of Health to visit the hospitals in the rural areas and gather reports for himself because those problems he stated aren't anywhere close to the overall problems faced by our Health Care System. We, hereby, implore; 1. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, to look into the issue of shortage of hospital staffs, employ more staffs, provide them with sufficient and consistent wages. 2. The National Assembly to pass any bills that would provide betterment for our Health Care situation and ensure it sets into motion and get implemented 3. Every Medical Forums of Nigeria to put pressure on every government delaying the growth and development of our Health facilities The lives of every Nigerian matter. YPAN hopes to see immediate actions taking place to improve our Hospitals. #ypan #health
The IGBO vs YORUBA vs HAUSA No doubt these are the major ethnic groups out of over 500+ ethnic groups in Nigeria. Once upon a time, these three groups worked together to take Nigeria from the hands of the British to her Independence in 1960. Ever since then, the three major groups fought and created allies among themselves, hence, rivalry, enmity, jealousy, intolerance and distrust brewed within their hearts. All these occurred about 55+ years ago. Today’s general population of Nigeria shows that over 70% of Nigerians are between 0 – 35 years, showing that they were born in the 80’s which was almost two decades after the Civil War. Hatred, intolerance, distrust and jealousy has been passed down to the present generation due to false and true stories, of which, only some have concrete backups. We must have forgotten that crime and corruption knows no race or tribe. As long as we are humans, we must always have criminals and corrupt minds among us on this earth. We must work together for success of our nation or see our motherland, our home get trampled on by strangers because we stood on our stupidity with pride. Our diversity, our strength. Our distinct languages, our weapon. Our diverse cultures, our identity. The civil war was orchestrated by people who only cared about their ego and influence in the guise of leadership. Their errors are being washed off on the present generation who weren’t born then. They are still sowing seeds of discords within us. The present generation should be aware that we must focus on today and make it better because our today would be looked upon by the third to fourth generations after us, as their history. Let’s reshape history. Our history might not be good but for the benefit of the future generation, let us create a good history today that would foster unity among the future generations. Remember, there are two types of family; those we choose and those we can’t. We all live under the umbrella of a great nation called Nigeria, and as so, we must see one another as brothers from another land. YPAN says, “One Love, One Nation, One WaZoBia”. #yorubaculture #igbo #hausa
We commend the EFCC on their current efforts to rid Nigeria of Internet fraud. Internet fraudsters have crippled the business integrity of many Nigerian-owned companies and business tycoons. Their criminal acts have made it hard for start up business men and women who do international businesses. Their dreams are being killed by some persons who they don’t know. Even at that, we can’t still say that some government and society aren’t one of those who caused this menace. Unemployment and poverty is a key factor to this fast-rising menace. Some governments are more concerned of their pockets and less concerned of those of the citizens. They feed the citizens with a seed of maize but keep the whole maize to themselves. The government is there to serve the people and not steal from them. The society encourages these youths to crave for “fast money”. The celebrities live fake lives and show off on social media intimidating the struggling youth and tempting them to seek faster means which attracts them to partake in criminal activities. YPANs’ advise to the government; provide millions of good jobs and watch criminality die and see the youths bring in development and infrastructural growth with the proceeds from their acquired jobs #efcc #federalgovernment #jobs #YPAN
